Champion1

Your MSP handles the network. Each vendor handles their own product. The space between them — where the systems actually meet the business — belongs to nobody. Champion1 is the program that takes it.

What it is.

Champion1 owns the application layer under a fixed monthly fee: administration, configuration, updates, migrations, integration, hosting and training, across every system you run. Off-the-shelf, custom, legacy, or abandoned by whoever built it.

It exists because of a pattern we kept seeing on project work. A migration would go well, then decay — not because it was built badly but because nobody owned it afterwards. The value needed maintaining and the engagement had ended.

There are three tiers. Flex is credit blocks with no monthly commitment, for a single system or interim cover. Manage is unlimited support and administration of the whole layer. Foundation adds active engineering, process mapping and a roadmap that keeps finding what's worth automating next.

The commercial structure is the point. Under a fixed fee, doing more work earns us nothing extra, so our interest and yours point the same direction. Defined service levels and the rate review are what stop that becoming an excuse to coast.

Whether it fits.

Written both ways, because the second list saves more time than the first.

Champion1 is probably right if

  • You run more than a handful of business systems and nobody owns them
  • The person who quietly administered everything has left
  • You have custom or legacy software no vendor will support
  • Requests queue behind someone's actual job
  • You want the cost of software support to be predictable

It probably isn't if

  • Your problem is networks, endpoints or laptops — that's an MSP
  • You run one or two simple systems and a hire would cover it
  • You want the lowest possible hourly rate
  • You need a one-off build with a clear ending — that's an AliveCommerce project

How it relates to a project.

A defined project builds something and finishes. Champion1 owns what exists and keeps it working. Many clients do both — a project to build or migrate, then Champion1 to own the result.

The layer × engagement grid on how we work lays out the whole structure if you'd rather see it on one page.
